We are including a page about our constant companion, Bruce's Diabetes. In order to make the most out of life and to live a long life, this companion must be in the forefront of most daily activities. Remember: Cure, Care, Commitment! We want to let everyone know that even though you must pay close attention to your diabetes, you can do just about anything. Bruce's new Lil' Buddy is his Animas Insulin Pump. It goes everywhere with us, even on the dive boat for our scuba trips. It only takes a few seconds to disconnect and reconnect his infusion set before and after a dive. Nearly every evening, you can join Bruce and other insulin pump users on the Insulin-Pumpers' Chat room. The most important thing to remember about living with diabetes is to stay informed and up-to-date about treatment and research. Join the American Diabetes Association and enjoy reading their monthly publication, Diabetes Forecast. Find a local diabetes organization and attend health fairs and seminars. Check out the Web pages of the Central Ohio Diabetes Association. Take care of yourself and get out there and enjoy life!
